Visit us and marvel at the ingenuity of mankind! The portraits in our Portrait Gallery spontaneously come to life, engaging in humorous banter about the history and importance of America's intellectual property protection system. Our short film, "Extraordinary Innovation", looks at the importance of intellectual property in sports and showcases how ideas effect our daily lives. Our rotating main exhibit has covered everything from food to shoes and features a number of interactive and engaging displays. Our Inductees to the Hall of Fame are represented throughout our exhibitions and are honored on a monumental wall, which features a kiosk full of information about the Inductees and their inventions. We also have occasional special exhibits about individuals and groups that have made significant contributions to the world through their intellectual property. And, for those who like to shop, the Museum Store features an interesting mix of USPTO merchandise and inventive products.

This attraction is later within the West Wing of the Madison Building of the US Patent and Trademark Office. It has a nice array of displays explaining invention history and inventors of well known historical inventions. It is a relatively small facility and does not take long to tour. It is a fun experience for scientists, engineers, and tinkerers.

This museum highlights inventors you've heard of and many more you've never heard of who invented products or processes that are integral to your life. It's well worth a visit.

This is a fascinating place that commemorates inventors and inventions in American history. Perfect if you want to take in a little something cool in DC and don't have time (or inclination) to tackle a Smithsonian or other major attraction. You'll be able to soak up this experience in an hour or two. You'll learn about inventors, inventions, copyrights and... More

Had a wonderful time touring this small museum. Learned a lot about trademarks and patents. Workers are very friendly and very knowledgeable. Spent a very enjoyable hour here. Would go again when in the area.

A little bit out of the way from Old Alexandria, but take the free trolley to the last stop and it's not too far walking. Really interesting regarding a lot of the patents and inventions.

The National Inventor's Hall of Fame moved some years ago from Akron, Oh. to the PATENT and TRADE OFFICE in Alexandria. The hall was carved out of the gigantic veranda at the Patent Office. It honors all of our inventor's that help better all of our lives. It takes between an hour and 90 minutes to leisurely go thru the... More

This is a free museum, located at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO) campus in Alexandria, Va. It showcases over 500 inventors who have been inducted into NIHF and their great technological achievements. It's a small and unique museum, but worthwhile to see. Highly recommended!

This is an interesting, informative small museum that is ideal to visit if you have several hours. We really enjoyed the biographies of the inventors and discussions of their inventions.

Considering the museum celebrates innovation it is simple and uninspiring. It is more like a memorial than a celebration of innovation. Too bad because the patents enabled such economic growth and societal improvements. If your into memorials it's not a bad place to visit although I find a walk in the Wilkes cemetery complex next door more inspiring

This is a great little museum where you will learn a lot! The museum highlights inventors with a "Hall of Fame" wall but also features interesting profiles on the brilliant people who are changing the world, like the folks who invented bluetooth, synthetic skin, etc. Right now there is a cool display of a 1965 Mustang and a 2015 Mustang...
