This is a great stop along the Virginia Wine Trail. This is a quiet tasting room with very friendly and well informed servers. We tasted 8 white wines for $5 - which is a great deal. Their wines are made in a dry style, which I appreciated. They also have a really nice patio with beautiful plants, ideal to enjoy... More

We stopped by after a busy day. They were actually out of red wines do we were only able to taste the whites. They were nice. The tasting room was comfortable and our pourer was very friendly.

What a fantastic winery, from the owner (Al), the staff, the wines, the hors d'oeuvres, all the way to and including the ambiance, this place is 5 star. Go on a tour, taste the wines, buy some of those delicious wines, then take one or two bottles with a platter of cheeses, bread, and sausages outside and just relax. If... More

8 tastings for $5! What a deal! We found this quaint place after hiking Old Rag and learned about who the true "Gray Ghost" was. Random and a lucky find. Be sure to check it out if you're in the area. They ran out of their Cabernet Franc which was unexpected but left with their 2013 Ranger Reserve (blend of... More

Visited Gray Ghost on a Saturday. The winery has a historic theme, which is carried through in the nice tasting facility. The winery is located right along the highway, and does not have the scenic views that many of the local wineries boast. They had a private event going on in a separate room, so there was only one server... More

This was my second visit to Gray Ghost. Annually, we do a girlfriend wine weekend in Virginia. We discovered Gray Ghost last year and decided we had to go back this year! It is hard to decide which wine to purchase since they are all good! The owners are very friendly and unassuming. The place is beautiful. Still trying to... More

Was out riding today my wife and I and stopped by Grey Ghost Winery.. What a pleasant experience we had.. All the wines were awesome and also was Amy.. She explained what wines they had and told us what to look for. We also asked her about groups coming in and she gave us info on that. Thanks for a... More

Our last visit was during a late season snow storm. The view was awesome from the upstairs area. This is a family owned business and we have never been disappointed when visiting!

When we moved to the Piedmont 12 years ago we discovered Gray Ghost Winery, about three miles from home. It is a family run operation that fits in with the ambience of the area, and to top it off they make some pretty tasty wine. Throughout the year they have special events - Cabernet & Chocolate, barrel tasting, library and... More

Pretty late February day in northern Virginia with temps in the high 60s, and we decided to hit a new winery. Used on VA Wine Pass membership to search for places about an hour from the Beltway and liked some of the reviews I found for Gray Ghost. Last half of the journey was very pretty. The winery isn't big... More
