As you ascend the hill up to the Tomb from the main building there was a sense of quiet and reverence that came over me. To see all the fallen heroes of our military that paid the ultimate sacrifice for the USA and for our...More

We went to the changing of the guards at the Tomb of the Unknowns at the end of the day. Ut was so moving and humbling, I don’t think anyone spoke at word until we left. Highly recommend

We were there for the changing of the guard. It was solemn respectful and moving ceremony. The cemetery is overly commercialized and overrun with tourists but this is still worth seeing. Every veteran and patriot should see this at least once.

The soldiers seem to be almost robotic as they glided like ghost across the floor. The changing of the guards is a memorable experience but remember to keep quiet or the active soldiers will remind you.

Find out what time they have the changing of the guards and it is a very interesting ceremony. There is a museum there which explains about the tomb of the unknown soldiers. Well worth the time and effort it took to get there.

It is well worth waiting for the hour so you can experience this. Well-executed and carried out with the utmost respect, good to be a part of for a few minutes.

Totally a coincidence how I ended up here on a Memorial Day. The ceremony around the Tomb of the Unknowns was solemn and so respectful. It's really amazing!

Free parking is nonexistent on the East Coast in general. If you are on a timetable, bite the bullet and park at Arlington.

I would research directly with the visitors center on site. You may need a special pass or invitation and possibly security clearance in this day and age. If you are staying nearby at a hotel, a hotel concierge may be able... More

It's about a 10 minute walk depending on your pace. Just note that it is kind of steep so have good walking shoes and drink water as it can get hot
