Great Place To Stop

I ran the Mount Vernon Trail and stopped to rest here. A convenient place to stop with on the MVT. Having a water fountain and bathroom would make this Park better.

Lady Bird Johnson Park contains the LBJ Memorial grove and offers nice views of the DC skyline. We liked it but didn't find it nearly as peaceful as it could have been, given the prevalence of traffic nearby.

Lady Bird Johnson Park and the LBJ Memorial Grove is a perfect place to start seeing DC. Parked the car at the LBJ grove (for free) and biked all over Washington from there. Beautiful paths run up and down the Potomac River with easy connections onto the Arlington Memorial Bridge. The parking is free and very safe, you just can't... More

Just up the steps at the Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier there is an area of display. Flags, Plaques and memorabilia and lots of information to take in. This building is air conditioned and there is a rest room. The Gardens and area surrounding are beautiful. It's a quiet restful area. Well looked after and cared for.

I spent time walking through this park while in D.C. and had a nice, relaxing time. The fact that this is right in the middle of such an historic place shows how well this area was planned. I loved it.

Lady Bird Johnson Park is situated on a long stretch of land beside the Potomac flanked by the George Washington Memorial Highway. There is a marina nearby, the Pentagon, a groove of trees and the LBJ monument. It is a low key and relaxing place to visit - especially in the spring when the daffodils are abundant.

Walking from Arlington to the Mall, we stumbled upon the park. It is very pretty, but could be easier to find with more signs. There is only one that I am aware of.

The view is the best. Parking is close by. Bring your picnic basket and plan to just relax, watch the planes from National Airport, the boats on the Potomac and the people on the adjacent jogging/bike paths!

Well kept and maintained, but trying to get in and out of the parking lot can be difficult. If you want this view of DC, consider parking at eitherthe Theodore Roosevelt Park to the north or Gravelly Point to the south (shorther distance) and walking or biking up. Oh, and avoide that place on the 4th! A great place to... More
