Worth going on the guided tour, but its in Portuguese of course. On our trip a symphony orchestra was rehearsing, so that was a bonus. Sadly we didn't get to one of the regular free concerts. The bilding has a fascinating history and it is...More

The history of why there is a theater like this in Manaus is pretty interesting (because of the Europeans and the one-time booming natural rubber trade), but the theater inside isn't all that interesting. The outside architecture is very nice.

One of the best acoustics in the world. A beautiful, historical place, with decades of the world's best in theatrical plays.

The guided tour of the building is very interesting, and watching a show here is a great experience. Some of the shows here are free - inquire at the ticket office.

Great symphonic orchestra. Difficult to find the program on the net but if you can buy locally a few days before you may be lucky!
