Visited relic of the Rubber Boom. this on my first trip to Manaus 12 years ago. They actually had a rehearsal in progress while we were there. What abound!

The Teatro Amazonas is not a very tall building, but it is a colorful one. In addition to the pink walls, the green and gold of the Brazilian flag are also visible.

It is a must go and a must see place. It is beautiful and it deserves a visit for sure. You need to go there to understand how the rubber time makes people rich in Amazonia State in the past.

Beautiful opera house. Tour was very informative and had access to all floors and a dressing room. Was lucky enough to catch the Christmas show on my way back... A great experience!

Best in Manaus. We had an almost private tour, as we were the only English speakers visiting that morning. Lovely building and very knowledgeable guide

Opera house is situated in a pretty square, one of the nice things about Manaus. We did the tour, guides English wasn't excellent but he was glad to practice and learned some new words. We were the only foreigners, the Brazilians all spoke English, so the tour was in both languages. Not expensive, enjoyable tour.

This is a "must see" tour in Manaus. Beautiful theater from inside to outside. Also the surrounding and neighborhood has good restaurants, café and it is a nice place to leisure and walk to/from Mercado Municipal to watch the sunset...

We walked from the cruise ship and although there was a bit of an incline it wasn't too far. We weren't the only people to walk it although it was very hot. We were there in November. The architecture and the décor inside the Opera House has to be seen to be believed. At times it is a bit like... More

We were very fortunate to arrive 10 minutes before a tour in English. The cost of the tour was 5 reals for seniors which is half price. We were thrilled that the orchestra was rehearsing for that evening's concert as this added to the overall experience. Our young guide who spoke excellent English took our group for a very thorough... More

Built at the time of the mining boom with all elements imported from Europe it is an impressive building both inside and outside. Unfortunately there was no performance during our visit but we were lucky to catch the end of a rehearsal. Do not miss the interval room on the first floor where people used to have a drink and...
