We spent some time at the botanical garden right after leaving Juma Lodge so it was a little anticlimactic but if you don't have time to go to a lodge, definitely visit but bring bug spray--there were more mosquitoes than we saw/felt anywhere else. Great variety of trees and some animals including two tanks of manatees. They have a small... More

At first moment I thought that the visit would be quick and I'd simply walk by myself admiring the nature but it turned out to be much more than that and the whole merit was from the guides who have explained each detail, including biology concepts, history and blending all of that in a way everyone would enjoy and understand.... This piece of Jungle has been set aside for all us rookies who want to begin experiencing the true jungle. And yes from Manaus many visitors are heading out of town to experience more of the Jungle but at the botanical Gardens here we were teamed up with a researcher and wildlife enthusiast who could talk for hours about all... Great place to visit on any stay in Manaus! Plus the temperature under the tree canopy is a LOT less than in town! Lots to see - serpentarium, natural Amazonian rainforest, wildlife - on the trails on the guided tour. There is also a tower you can climb to see the forest canopy. English-speaking guides available. Entrance is inexpensive -... More

The botanical garden just outside Manaus is your best chance of seeing the Amazon tree canopy without flying over it. It's an easy ride from the city (taxis are good value if there's more than one of you - no need to pay for a special trip). Entrance is cheap (the usual concessions and remember all over-60s get good reductions... More

I recommend that visitors make the full tour: track and climb the tower of 42 meters. There are many areas of creating native species such as orchids, bromeliads, butterflies, snakes and fish - all accompanied by trained biologists.

A walking for a 7 years old boy. Not worth to visit. A 10 km x 10 km area for a 500 m walking. If you really like trekking you gonna get bored.

I visited the botanical gardens in February 2016 and was taken around by a very able staff member whose name sadly escapes me. It is unfortunate that more tourists do not find their way here. This is a great place to visit. The variety of orchids are astounding. More importantly, simply jump on a bus 448 and it stops right... More

The tower and exploring the trails are a must! Our guides, Kelly and Jefferson, were very welcoming! Several interesting display areas to see in addition to the tower and trails. Enjoyed the visit very much with the whole family!

Each presentation centre was well displayed and explained by the tour guide. The highlight was climbing the tower. It would have been great if our tour guide could have pointed out the various buildings we were seeing in Manaus from the tower. You could really see for miles.
