This free city park has some very nice features, including 2 short raised boardwalks, an auditorium and a large thatched-roof bldg. However, the level of litter and pollution is extrememly high, especially by and in the river. I was surprised to see a live alligator there thinking it too polluted. Aside from a few birds, I saw little wildlife, and... More

We visited twice during a visit to Manaus. It is easily accessible by bus and is free to get in. Although the area around the river is full of debris there are lots of alligators and turtles around. We also saw a sloth and lots of monkeys plus some possum type creatures, a parrot, iguana and lots more. There are... More

I love this park, as it is actually a chunk of jungle in the middle of the city, with lots of wild/free animals: parrots, macaws, insects by the ton, and even monkeys are easily found, if patient and lucky. However, this lovely green space within Manaus suffers from frequent abandonment by the municipal authorities, so it will depend on your... More
