This beautiful Palacio is in the same area as the Teatro Amazonas and can be reached just as easily. However, the disappointing aspect is that it was not open the day we visited. The exterior shows a grandiose sense of worth and importance, redflecting cthe immense wealth generaqtede during the rubber boom of the 1880s-1890s, hence the profusion of sweepiing... More

Definitely worth going to see - at least the outside. I was there too late to get inside, but it's worth going to check out, even if you have to take pictures through the gate. It's surrounded by some parks that are kinda fun to see too.

Interesting and well maintained building. Totally open to the public and provides a taste of some history. Interesting, but not a must see.

The most beautiful part of this building in my opinion, were the beautiful stairs that was built in this house. It was my understanding that the wood was cut in the Amazon, shipped to Portugal, the stairs built in Portugal, then shipped back to the residence to be installed. The logistical implication, coupled with the exactness of measurements to create... More

If you have to tour Manaus to fill in time, or are fascinated by rubber baron lifestyle endure a visit, or sit it out in the garden terrace at the back of the house.

Located in the city center of Manaus, the palace functions nowadays as an exibition vennue. Beautiful and full of history, it is a must see in the city.

This was a beautiful building on the outside, but there was not much to see inside. Go, if you have the chance, but it you miss it, no worries...

It was originally the house of a Rubber Baron, of German origin. The house was strategically located near the Rio Negro. From there he exported the rubber to Hamburg. Due to the crisis, decline of the rubber prices, he gave this house as a guarantee for a loan. Due the First World War, he was unable to trade with Germany.... More
