The elevator itself is old and ugly. But at the top you can make nice shots of Salvador. There were lines of people, but it was organized.

Historic lift, moderised recently is an unusual sight for a city split into lower and upper parts! Included in the Salvador bus trip.

This is something a tourist should do but it is not a bucket list item. It is cheap and is usually not very busy. On both ends there is something to see and do but the ride is uneventful.

Yepp there isn't much too say. It costs 0,15 and you won't see anything during the "ride". You've got a nice view before you go into the elevator to take some photos but apart from that it's still an elevator

Yes- this is just an elevator people... don’t come JUST for this. It may have been groundbreaking 50 years ago but today it is just an elevator.

This is a very good option to reach the upper part of the city. And also very cheap way. It brings you in less then a minute directly to the town center.

We read so many reviews about the lift smell... Maybe in some times of the year it does stink, but not when we went. It is a lift, in the middle of the city (not inside a building, but there. In the city) that takes...More
