Unfortunately I didn't have the $0,15 to go down with the elevator and the cashier couldn't provide change. The surroundings are interesting and the view is beautiful!

One of top attractions in Salvador Bahia. It's elevator which takes you from port to the city. In port have Mercado modelo where they traded with slaves. Elevator need pay little. On top of elevator old city starts. Have great view on port and sea....More

You have to do this simply because it's so cheap! R0.15 I had to ask the person to repeat the price because I didn't understand something in this world could be so cheap. The ice cream when you get to the top is really tasty.

The first elevator of Brazil which was planned and built for practical reasons in order to connect the upper city with the lower city because a sharp escarpment divides its lower city (Cidade Baixa) from its upper city (Cidade Alta) by some 85 meters.

From the Mercado Moledo you can take the elevator 85 metres up to the historical centre of Salvador. The trip is amazingly cheap.

Beautiful view, several restaurants and bars. As well as the general tee shirt shops. Don't miss photo Op where Michael Jackson sang Man in the mirror.
