I am a reader of Jorge Amado and want to visit the "Casa", the sight was ok for me for that reason, but not for any person.

We went in out of curiosity as I'd read some of Amado's works in the past. It is a collection of letters and photos and tributes to his writings. It's well done. Oh, and there's a small café inside.

Not worth going inside. Case de Jorge Amado makes for a nice photo-op in front of it but the museum itself only has a bunch of posters of movie adaptations of Amado's books. If you really want to find out more about the famous author, his old house-turned-museum (Casa do Rio Vermelho) is a better option.

After many years of its creation, despite the abandonment of the Pelourinho from the local authority, this building resists degradation of the area. I hope they recover in time the salvation of the Pelourinho, it is coming back as over 20 years ago, dirty and without urban decor

I suppose this place reaches the hearts of portuguese and brasilians in a deeper way, as Jorge Amado was/is one of the greatest writers of last century, and a true son of Bahia. It was the 2nd time I visited the place and got moved just like the first time I visited this place. A well deserved tribute to one... More

The museum I feel has more potential considering the importance of Jorge Amado. However not a lot of real interest. Still, is right in Pelourinho Square, and worth a 15-20 minute visit if you are there, but perhaps not worth making a special trip.

very well situated on the Pelourinho square, this house had never been lived by J. Amado. There is a poor display of objects an books. It is worth only because of the nice views from its windows!

I didn't go in, but my wife did. She loved it..., but I loved sitting at the door steps and do people watching..., and a band played outside for hours..., a beautiful church less than 60 meters away..., great spot to spend a couple of hours!
