To get to FONTE DOS AMORES, you must walk a small path, which is really beautiful and very comfortable. I recommend going on sunny days, so that you have the opportunity to see macaques, they are only seen on sunny days. Try to take care of your belongings, macaques are like children and they like to play by removing things.

I already knew the Source of Love, I found it very beautiful, but this time, we did not enter, because they started to charge expensive! R$ 30,00 per person (whole) half entry option 15,00. I say expensive because it is a walk that is not long.
The city could show the tourists its beauty, without charge.

The place is not very big, but it has good infrastructure and is quite pleasant. Parking is paid, but entry to the fountain is free. It is quite wooded there, with many monkeys running up and down the trees. There is a kiosk selling drinks and there are toilets. The place is very well looked after, with a koi pond, a gazebo and, at the top, the famous Fonte dos Amores.

Unfortunately it was not possible to enter because now they charge very expensive. We were staying in the city hotel which included half the ticket. We arrived at the box office and they said it was Monday to Thursday. Looking at the reviews I realized that it is not worth 60,00. Better than staying disappointed!!!

Nice but suffer from lack of maintenance. Quite small but can kill about 30 minutes.
The cantine at the entrance serve nice Coco's for drinking. Another place further down the parking lot sales hot corns and is packed with monkeys on its roof and surrounding trees.

They also say that, many years ago a young lady (daughter of a rich farmer) and a catholic priest fell in love to each other, and they hid at this place, which was quite secluded then. On the account of its limpid water fountain they chose that particular place in order to be able to live their impossible love. Although her father had searched everywhere, he never found his daughter alive again. One day, a hunter found their naked bodies, hug to each other at this very spot, so the rich farmer, quite moved, ordered a statue of a naked couple in order to remember his daughter and to celebrate love. The Italian sculptor Giulio Starace then did that in 1929. Besides that, a local poet, Alberto Oliveira, wrote a poem to honour love (even its hardships), and that goes something like that, if you allow me to try:"At this recanto, everything invites to love/ that love is life/then love, love/ whoever brougth so much beauty/the nature essence/ then make a pray, make a pray (and that goes on). It does not matter either if you are with your sweetheart, or all by yourself, that is definetly a place to go whenever you visit Poços, even if is just to enjoy the exuberance of this nature reserve.(The forementioned poem is writen on a bronze plaque, right on the foot of the statue). That worths a while to watch the YouTube Video "Descubra Poços de Caldas - Fonte dos Amores", and if you can watch also "WE ARE POÇOS, a YOUTUBE video inspired by the worldwide famous Pharrell's song "Happy" (they show the statue at the very end of this video).

Best thing about going there is the natural water and to see the wild monkeys. The Fonte is a white statue near a waterfall

One of the shopowners in the park speaks good English (former Alcoa employee) and will happily share his love of rocks. Make sure to ask to be pointed to the Cristo trail- it's not particularly well marked for those without a map, and there are quite a few trails in the area.

Of you are planning to be in Poços de Caldas, take a time to visit this place. If you are tired you can rest and drink a LOT of water.

Dá pra ir com crianças devido a trilha?
Written 13 September 2019
