It is just a park. It is a nice place where you can have a walk or pass some time but nothing special. You cannot call it an attraction it is just a park.

On Sundays the park has a unique crafts market where you can find lots of interesting things. Also funny on Sundays is the dogs day out. Through the week it's very quiet and at night a bit scary to be.

It is busy on a weekend but quiet during the week. There are many live performers and food vendors on a weekend. I don't know why or for how long but the bandstand and fountains were all closed off

Praca da Republica is a beautiful square. On Sundays there is an art fair, and I highly recommend it. I suggest you take an umbrella and use it, even in plain sunshine, during mango season. The trees around the square are mango trees, and unfortunately...More

In this 'praça', that means something like square or park, you'll find the famous Belem's theatre and apart from that not much. Lots of homeless people walking around during the evening make it a bit dodgy and might be dangerous.
