Beware of cheating! They are abusing tourists, making them pay cash by promising a service they do not perform. We paid 120 reais to on a boat and dive among the fish, including underwater photos that were not delivered. According to the "agent" named Daniel that appears in the photo on the left, they were going to send us those images in about 48 hours, they only sent us a couple of images, but none of them were made in the water with the fish. After consulting through WhatsApp several times he simply blocked us! I tricked him with an another 2 phone numbers. When he realized it was us he blocked us again. With the 3th number he simply said that those pictures were no longer on their system. I strongly recommend not to listen to these people on the beach. We thought they already had enough hard times with pandemic so paying 120 was more then normal and we stepped into a trap. Go with the established companies those you can track and check if they are giving a good service at a correct price. We have our lessons learned and a pity we did not get the pictures that we so much wanted.

Avoid it at all costs! theres absolutely no reason to go there. Either go to Muro Alto for a quiet & calm beach.
If you want do some snorkeling/diving go to Carneiros Beach.
Full of people offering all kinds of things, the only place we didnt feel safe in PDG

We stayed in Porto de Galinhas so this was our closest public beach. There are men everywhere trying to sell boat/beach tours. They stop you in your car in the middle of the road! You don’t really need a tour, you can do the piscinas naturais on your own.
Be prepared to pay for parking even on the street where it’s free. Men in orange vests want 10$R to “watch” your car.
Once you get on the beach, hundreds of people will pester you to sit in their sun chairs. It is the best option so just pick your favourite area and pay for a parasol and chairs. If you eat at their restaurant, the parasol and chairs are then free.
Lots of people selling food and wares on the beach but they are very friendly and don’t bug you and you can get some bargains and really good snacks like empanadas and corn on the cob and of course caipirinhas!
The tide comes in and washes away your things at the front of the beach so take a place at the back.
Take swim shoes to protect your feet from the sea urchins if you’re going out to the reef.
You can take boats out to the reef or swim there yourself. We swam. I think the boats only cost $R20 though if swimming isn’t your thing! You should only go out to the reef at low tide.
All in all a lovely busy beach that we thoroughly enjoyed!

Very beautiful natural pools with clear, warm waters where you go to by nice "jangadas". You can enjoy it all year long. I've been there in the winter and there were blue, warm days.

In Porto de galinha there is 2 km Long coral reef at the beach. This breaks the waves and creates nice swimming pools between the dead corals, which is inhabited by beautiful colourful fishes. You can swim within the pools. To get further out to the reef, you need to get a bracelet for free from the council house at the beach. They allow 200 people per day onto the reefs. If you do not have a bracelet, the guards call you to leave the reefs. You have to queue up for a bracelet one hour before low tide, when they start to distribute the bracelets. It is an nur waiting.

Head to the kiosk by the beach early (8.30 - 9.30am) and buy a token.
Join other couples / friends (a boat takes 6 people) and go out to the reef.
Trip takes about an hour - walk on the reef (where it's roped off) and see the fish in the pools. Then sail out and swim with the fish.
A cheap and cheerful way to spend the morning.

We went on a boat trip (Jangada) to the natural pools right in the center of porto de galinhas. It is a short boat trip to the pools. It is only R $20 a person, roughly $6USD each. Everything depends on the tide. We did 2 trips on different days. One during high tide and one during low tide. Both were good. If you go at high tide they bring you to the pool to swim, if it's low tide you go to walk around the pools then they bring you to a different area for you to go out and swim. At some point in the day the tide will be too high to do any trips. The bigger attraction is to go during low tide. Just ask the guys when is the best time they will tell you. The tide schedule for us was low tide early in the morning, 6-9am. This is the main trip in porto de galinhas, it's a must do. It's so cheap and only an hour long. If you go to porto de galinhas and don't do this trip shame on you.

This is a very calm water beach. You have to go when the tide is not too high or too low. Otherwise, it is a wonderful place to spend some time.

First time I faced this experience.
Natural Foods Between the Ocean and the Lagoon.
Strong strong waves hitting from Oceanside. And a beautiful Lake from the other side.
We were lucky to swim with color fish also.
Be careful from the sharp rock, get ready with sandals or slippers, enjoy

We lost our breath when we see the sea colour. To go to the pools, you will have to get a small typical boat called Jangada! Then, arriving there the Jangadeiro (Jangada's saillor) will give you some bait portions to attract fishes, beautifull shoals will appear swimming extremely close to you.

Olá! Qual o horário de funcionamento das jangadas?
Vi que agora dia de Natal a maré estará 0.5 às 7h30. Já teriam pessoas disponíveis antes disso?
Written 22 December 2020
