Waking up at 1.45 after a few drinks, the thought definitely crosses your mind- "is this worth it", especially after the first section when the hike has barely started however once you get going, you adjust. Martin was a fantastic guide giving pointers of what to expect and when- he really is great. Once you reach the top to see... More

Three of us (myself, partner and another male friend) decided to hike up the peak on our own, we set off from our Pousada at 5am in the dark with head torches to avoid heat of the day (but more importantly to get back in time for breakfast!). The start of the track was easily navigated and first 45-60mins not... More

We heard about it from payd hikes promotions, with guide it cost 130 Reals, go to Aquarius bar ask them if you like with guide, we went by our own, track was easy, only going back bit lossy but we used endomondo so it wasnt hard to return back to track, recommend very much, amazing views, even if its cloudy... It was a great experience, although we didn't get to see the sunrise or anything for that matter because it was too cloudy until 6:30 am, when we left. It took us almost 3h up and 2h down. Bring some food and water, 2 liters should be enough. We didn't hire a guide because one of us had some experience,... More

The sign at the bottom says 3.5 hours up and 3.5 hours down - they are not exaggerating. A walking pole is extremely helpful - to save ones knees on the way done. You need to be able to climb 'steps' (tree roots, stones) of differing height, gradient and slipperiness. You will need plenty of water. But the view at... More

Probably the hardest hike I have done yet. The weather was great but the heat (even in winter) was excruciating. Make sure to bring lots of water (I drank 2L). We hired a guide from one of the tourist booths in Abraão which I recommend because the trail is jot well identified and it is easy to get lost The... More

I hiked this solo and it was about 5 hours roundtrip, but I was moving at a rapid pace. It's a long and steep hike, but not challenging beyond that (e.g., no scrambling.) It is not appropriate for children. Bring some food and about 2 liters of water. If you are somewhat experienced, you do NOT need to hire a... More

The hike to the parrot peak is a MUST if you're into hikes. But if you are REALLY into hikes you must do the night hike with Sunrise Pioneers. It leaves at 2am and although that might sound challenging, is worth every single moment. If you're in a budget you can do the hike during the day, the path is... More

Do the hike on a clear day go early its brilliant best thing to do there by far , Don't go to the base head straight for the top for better pics and views Takes 2 1/2 hours up 1 1/2 down Don't bother with a guide just keep to the path

A GREAT recommendation to everyone who want to have an amazing and memorable adventure to the top of tropical paradise island of Ilha Grande! The sunrise we saw that night was the best I've ever seen. Just unbelievable, what colours the sky can offer at this time of the day. No picture can do the justice, you really have to... More
