Absolutely stunning beach. This is one of those places your jaw just drops when you step out onto it. I would suggest walking for 20 minutes around the beach to find a place to sit, its much nicer and quieter than where the track comes out onto the beach.

The trail to go there is a little bit hard if you're not into tracking, it takes around 2h from Abraao village. However, the effort is compensate by the view of claer blue water and the untouched nature! Higly recomend! It's also possible to go there by boat!

this is a dream. very very popular, but ,thanks to its size, even in high season not crowded (yet! go quick!). walk a little further down the beach and you will be perfectly fine. drinks and snacks are sold on the beach from small huts. note; boats from Abrao drop you off on the other side, you have to cross... This is the best ever beach we have visited. Getting there early means you have the 3km beach to yourself. However if it has rained - walk can be treacherous there and back.....

A bit disappointed after all the hype. I've been to the Maldives and the whitsundays and this beach is not in the same league. Nice enough for a visit though. We got a private boat for 200 Reals return. It's quite a nice walk from the beach where they drop you off. Takes about 20 minutes but it's quite steep... More

When we arrived it was quite packed but we still managed to find a nice spot further down. This beach is great for watersports. We tried stand up paddling which was great fun! Lots of cafes and shops around to keep us busy and the cathedral is pretty too.

We walked from Abraao to Las Palmas beach which was very long and hot, then took a boat around to Pouso beach from which we walked the 20 minutes through to Lopes Mendes beach. Refreshing water (just), plenty of shade and drinks sellers. Walked back to Pouso and took a water taxi back to Abraao (and got soaked).
