This is a really good trail. The hardest bit is the first half and it should take the average person 2.5-3 hours. Take a big bottle of water and some bananas and you'll be fine. There are restaurants along the way if you need anything...More

You should definitely go! I'd give it a 5, but I think the plastic garbage was off-putting. Still, you won't see it until after you've had your "awe, its sooo beautiful" moment. Enjoy! And walk slowly from the boat so you get a chance to...More

We walked one way and got the boat back. The walk/hike took around 3 hours and is clearly sign posted. It was probably the sweatiest we have ever been, but did make the sight of the white sands and blue water even more amazing! The...More

A must! We found the beach even much better than Ipanema and Copacabana. The sand is softer, the water clear and there were less heavy waves compared to our experience in Rio (which was already really really good). We were here in Dec, some foreign...More

We hiked to this beach which took over 2 hours. Tough hike for the first 50 minutes or so as it is uphill. Some cool views and some good exercise. Bring plenty of water and a snack for when you get to LM. There are...More

Went here with a taxi boat in the morning, to get the nice sunshine during the morning. Waves were high, so we enjoyed some body-boarding. The beach is huge, so we managed to get our own spot - with no one else within 20 metres...More

The Lopes Mendes Beach is beautiful. The open ocean created gorgeous waves and the sand put the other beaches on Ilha Grande to shame. We had to hike there, but it was worth it for the view and relaxing atmosphere.

Clear water and soft sand. Beautiful place without jet ski and boats. One of the best beaches in Brazil

hi Sean, I can't much help with your questions to be honest. We booked a transfer from Rio with Green Toad bus company, it included the boat crossing from Jacarei and was all pretty good. We didn't do any private tours on... More
