The museum tells the history of the royal family in Brazil. The house is huge and beautiful, well preserved with the original furniture.

Beautiful place. Very well preserved with good collection. Former summer house of the Imperial Family, it is worth the visit. Paintings, jewelry, furniture, china... each room is set as the original.

A tour of this museum enables you to look at the way the Brazilian emperor and his family lived in the 19th century. This was the summer home, about an hour from Rio, in the cooler mountains.
