The museum uses furniture, jewels and artworks, all beautifully arranged, to illustrate the 200 years of imperial Brazilian history. Easy and clear to understand. There is a room showing slave artifacts which was both distressing and worthwhile to see. Pricing is for three options which...More

We took the Río Máximo tour to Petrópolis with tour guide Kathia Waleria. The museum is huge!!! And its history is so rich! It is very well preserved despite the long time it was in unsuitable hands. Totally worth it!

On the day we went the queue was very very long, but it moved fairly quickly. We put on the booties and follow the guide from room to room. Everything is so well preserved and opulent.

We were in Petropolis from United States for my sons wedding. WE all enjoyed this self guided walking tour. Most exhibits had English translation and was very interesting. There is a good place there for lunch as well.

We toured this beautiful landmark on the spur of the moment recently. It is well maintained and full of period pieces. I wish I had known more about the history of it before I went. Even without knowing very much, the tour was great.

A historic building which was the "summer" palace of the imperial family. A visit to this palace will give you a "taste" of the life of Emperors of Brazil.
