Food, Drinks, Handmade stuffs

This is probably one of those unique places in Brazil where you find typical food, drinks, artists and handcraft stuffs. Just avoid the hot temperatures during the summer

If you want to buy souvenirs (leather, wooden craft, textile), food (fruits, sweets, vegetables, etc), everything you could think of at reasonable prices you need to visit this place. What is more, it is full of different restaurants, bars, etc which offer variety of typical local dishes (but beware, the long queues may scare you:-)) and of course samba and... More

The feira had an interesting combination of shops and restaurants. Each side of the fiera had live performances. We chose one side (which felt less dodgy) and chose a random restaurant to have caipirinha, which have a generous serving of cachaca. We also enjoyed watching the crowd dance and sing along to the music.

I love North East Brazil - I used to live in the country and visited most of the states of the North East many times. On a recent holiday trip I was keen to get up at least as far as Salavador, but it didn't happen due to lack of time. However, if you are in Rio, you can have... More

This place is good to check out/buy souvenirs at reasonable prices (leathers, wood crafts, etc.) You will need to buy an entrance at the gate for a minimal cost. There are many restaurants from small stalls to big shops that serves authentic local dishes and drinks. We spent almost half day though it was hot inside, but we enjoyed the... More

Our first trip to Rio and we decided to visit this market. Spent about 4 hours here and thoroughly enjoyed the food and browsing the items for sale. Great prices compared to what was being charged where we stayed in Copacobana. I would recommend.

Yes - this is a market, but one with a difference, in that it sells not only souveniers but also linens and similar items, plus great cheese selections etc which are produced and used locally,, so a good mix. Also a shop dedicated to various alcoholic drinks made in Brazil - with a welcoming tasting option! I went on a... More

This trip I was fortunate enough to experience the North of Brasil as well as Rio, and this place is not only authentic but also a great place to visit while in Rio. Highly recommend heading here for a meal at some point!

This isn't a very typical tourist attraction however if one likes to buy authentic handicraft for which I landed up there. Also authentic food options be for lunch or to carry back.
