This one of the best beaches in Rio because is far from the crowdy of South Zone and Barra. If you are of the kind that wants to have your own space and relax in a beach day, this is an excellent choice for you.
If you want to relax and not get bothered like at Ipanema or even worse Copacabana beach, take a trip to Recreio or even closer Barra beach. Much cleaner and safer.

This was one of our favourite spots in Rio! very few tourists, a few vendors but you arent bothered by them...if you are energetic, wait until the sandbar is exposed and go over to the island/mountain and hike up/repell down!
