About
One of the most beautiful attractions in Rio de Janeiro and one of the most famous in Brazil. Our mission is to take people to an enchantment, fun and entertainment journey – providing happy and unforgettable experiences as well as valuing Brazilian culture. We constantly invest in safety, comfort and innovative technologies. Our locations constitute natural, geological, historical, and touristic landmarks in the city of Rio de Janeiro. As a natural landmark, it reminds us of our reference to the sailors who come to Guanabara Bay. As a geological landmark, it reminds us of our geological site precisely dating the history of our planet. We also talk about historical landmark because on March 1, 1565, Estacio de Sa founded the City of Sao Sebastiao in Rio de Janeiro literally on its feet. And, finally, touristic landmark because the Cable Car opened on Sugarloaf projected Brazil’s name worldwide. It has been the first cable car installed in Brazil and the third in the world.

Top ways to experience Sugarloaf Mountain
The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Urca
Urca is one of the oldest areas in Rio. Known for its incredible views of the city, the neighbourhood runs along Guanabara bay, providing visitors with an opportunity to watch the sunset from one of Rio’s greatest natural treasures: Sugarloaf Mountain (Pao de Acucar). It is said that the locals in Urca are “bon vivant,” which is one of the reasons the area attracts people of all styles and ages. Urca is the perfect place to take a stroll and appreciate the area’s beautiful architecture, enjoy a cocktail and some delicious seafood pastries at a bar, or bring a bottle of wine and enjoy it while sitting anywhere along the stone seawall known as the “mureta.”

Breathtaking
The view is stunning with a convenient location in the city. The quietness you feel while watching the busy city is tranquil. Another place with great views especially of flights from the original airport.

Sugarloaf in Rio has best scenic views
Feb 2021 • Solo
Most breathtaking place in Rio, strictly recommended. Sugarloaf mountain has around view unlike Corcovado with limited point of view. Sugarloaf opens 360' overlook. You may see Santos Dumont Intl. Airport and runway, bridge to Niteroy city, Ipanema, Copacobana, Botafogo , Leme and Flamengo beaches and districts. Your pics with that background will be excellent ones. There is cafe at the top where you see great Copacobana.

Pao de Acucar
Apr 2021
This is the Pao de Acucar attraction. It is worthwhile going. Everyone should go at least once. The venue has been updated for tourists and is a great trip with Anderson from Rio de Carioca Tour LTD.

Challenging climb for those with a head for heights!
Apr 2020
Most visitors travel to the top of Pao de Acucar (Sugarloaf) on the cable car. However, it is possible to climb it without ropes! Walk or drive to Praia Vermelha. There is also a bus service that finishes there. Walk to the left hand side of the beach and you will find a path that leads on to a walkway at the foot of the Sugarloaf. Along this path you will see 'sagui' - a type of marmoset. Keep looking out on your left until you see a distinct track that begins the ascent. About halfway up, there is a rock face that sticks out at a 45-degree angle. You need a lot of determination to pull yourself up and over this piece! Do not attempt this if you are not confident you can do it! Any fall will mean you are dead! The rest of the climb is a 'piece of cake' and you'll suddenly find yourself at the top with all the paying tourists. It's probably best to pay to go down on the cable car although I did climb down on the last occasion. I am still alive!

Awesome views

Went up the gondola once but walked up and down the mountain several times. If you don't walk up or down you'll miss the sweat little marmoset (monkey type)
