Located on the outskirts of Rio, this huge park is wonderful and for an entry ticket of R$ 15/-, I would say it is a fair deal. Big collection of flora and fauna, nice gardens, cafe etc. Great place to spend an afternoon!

It was closed probably because November 15 is a national holiday.

I agree that morning is best as it can get hot. There are picnic tables in the children's park, but those fill up quickly and people leave their stuff there to claim a table. You can't sit on the grass outside of the... More
