What were we thinking?!?

Have no idea why we visited this hard-to-find, out-of-the-way museum. It was a complete waste of time, a tacky, cheesy, dusty display. Do yourself a favor: STAY AWAY!

This museum is CLOSED and has been for some time. Don't try and go. There's a sign saying its closed for our security - not sure what that means - and no idea when it will reopen.

The guards at the museum said that hopefully the contents of the museum will be moved to a central city location soon. Let's hope it's to a location that is easier to find.

See uploaded pic for posted announcement of closure for 'your security'. If there's a web presence, i'd check it first before coming to this location.

Despite being located in a really odd building in a really odd place, this museum gave us a fun hour or so. Films staring Carmen are continuously playing in a small theatre area and an excellent time line of her life is written on the wall. Whilst there are many of Carmens outfits, jewelry and personal belongings on display we... More

This tiny little place is a joy - dedicated to the lovely Carmen her vitality shines through in all the exhibits. Go visit, it's fabulous fun.

A fruit basket hat, Hollywood musical movies - that's pretty much all I knew about Carmen Miranda. I didn't even realise she was Brazilian until I moved here. On a rainy day in Rio, what do you do? Visiting a museum seemed like a good idea, so we picked one that we hadn't visited before and the pin landed on... More

Not easy to find – it’s in an ugly concrete bunker, sitting in a desolate, empty park that runs between two busy highways. Almost no signage, but I recognized the building from website photos. Such a contrast to the colourful and flamboyant entertainer featured inside. Film clips show Carmen Miranda in action, and display cases features original and replica jewelry,... More

This museum is a natural magnet for tourists visiting Rio. What a big disappointment! It is tiny and, apart from some clothes which were allegedly worn buy the movie star, there's virtually nothing else of interest. Don't waste your time!

It is definitely and exclusively for those who love the Brazilian singer and actress who starred some Holywood movies in the 50s.
