You hear a lot of bad things about the dangers of going to the beaches in Rio - you’ll get robbed, stabbed etc etc. But nothing could have been further from the truth - the wide beach was full of both families & ‘beautiful bodies’...More

Great beach, you do not have to leave it except for the toilet. You can get almost anything to drink brought to you by the beach boys and all on account, you then settle your bill at the end of the day.

Ipanema is shorter in distance length wise than Copacabana and it could be just me but I feel the locals go to Ipanema more than Copacabana which seems more touristy. I actually prefer Ipanema.

high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which
can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue.
