There is really nothing exiting about this average suburb of the city and you had better focus on the more interesting parts of the city.

Nice beach to get away from Ipanema and Copacabana. About a 15 -20 minute cab from Ipanema depending on traffic. Beaches are cleaner and a lot safer. Lots of shopping and restaurants for all tastes and budgets.

This area of Rio is well developed and is home to the Olympic park, lots of apartment buildings, shopping malls and restaurants. The area has good transport links with the central Rio. We stayed here during the Olympic games and enjoyed its beaches few times.
