The Plataforma Samba Show represents the rhythmic and colorful dances of Brazilian folklore, often featuring the prior year's Carnival winning Samba school dancers. There is the option to have dinner before the show, but the real attraction is the Samba dance performances.

The show starts 2200, which is too late. The dancers was okay, but I don't know, I was so sleepy watching the show. Not too many interaction with the audience. And the stage is not the big one. I think the venue must be renewed.

I had thought I was attending a show consisting of beautiful feathered girls dancing on stage as advertised, but the feathered girls was only a small percentage of the show. Most of the show consisted of men playing drums, sticks, clackers and jumping around the stage trying to dance. My wife and I did not enjoy this elementary school style... More

We booked the show without the dinner and it was just 90 minutes long. For a city like Rio, this venue is below average. I had to clean, wipe the wooden table top that we were seated because it was sticky with gunky residue and filthy. Half of the show was half a dozen males dressed in red pants jumping... More

Colorful, moderately interesting show fitting for a visit to Brazil. It is NOT Radio City Music Hall but provides some local color.

Not able to be in Rio for Carnaval? No problem, take in the Plataforma Samba Show. It features some of the costumes used in previous Carnaval parades. There is also some singing and dancing along with some acrobats who simulate Brazilian fighting. The show traces a history in Brazil. It is both entertaining and informative.

What to say about the show??Humm?? I'd have to say we wouldn't go again.Having said that however we did enjoy parts of it. The dinner was good and the costumes were wonderful. But after the first 45 minutes the glitz began to wear off and the show seemed to drag.

The Plataforma show is a great way to experience the samba, music, costumes and excitement of Carnaval if you can't be there. The show features some great young dancers and fantastic costumes. The show never stops and you feel the vibrations of the music on stage. Seating is a little strange. Our "great" floor seats had us sitting about 10... More

The show was amazing a it told a story of Brazilian history through dance. Me and my mother really enjoyed the show. The price of drinks are a bit high, as well as the pictures they take of you. I wouldn't call it a tourist trap, because you come to see the show and take back pictures of your trip.... More

This could be seen as a tourist trap and to some extent I guess it is but in defence it a colourful show with lots of energy and enthusiasm from the cast to make this an enjoyable 90mins. This doesn't start to late and you need to eat before you get there as only drinks are served. The show outlines... More

We had very little time in Rio but wanted to watch some Samba and the only place available at this time was Plataforma (Ginga Tropical was closed). Though it is said to be very touristy and though it's annoying when they try to sell you photos with the performers, though it's pricey, it was still totally worth it. The dances... More
