It is a light walk in one of most secure areas in RJ. Along the track you are going to enjoy a very nice view from Guanabara Bay

After visiting the Red beach we walked to the nearby Claudio Countinho trail. An awesome place, quiet and lush with trees.

On the left hand (North) side of Praia Vermelha you find this easy tarmac walkway which goes under the South lee of Sugar Loaf. It´s quite likely that you will see little monkeys called ´micos´. It´s suitable for all ages, even wheelchairs and prams/baby buggies....More

This is a beautiful trail. You can walk until the end or get the trail to Sugar Loaf first hill, name Cara-de-Cao. It is a nice 50 minutes trail to the first hill. You can descend using the Cable car or just get the same...More

Real nice trail. From there you can get to Urca Mountain. From the trail you have a beautiful view from Guanabara Bay and besides you can see different native animals such as the little micos.

The Claudio Coutinho Trail, named after a famous Brazilian National Soccer Team coach, is a nice place to jog or simply strecht your legs. Enjoy the landscape, the nice view and fresher air.

The area is totally safe, provided that it is a military one. You cannot climb up the Sugar Loaf, unless you are a mountain climber.
