Avenida Atlantica, with the iconic wavy sidewalk mosaic of Roberto Burle Marx, is ideal for strolling along Copacabana Beach. It is lined with beachside kiosks offering refreshments such as a chilled coconut, and at the far end is a quaint area where fishermen bring their fresh catch ashore.

Beautiful avenue with the Atlantic Ocean and the beach of Copacabana on one side and luxurious hotels on the other side. To me, it felt like walking along the beaches of Cannes or Nice in the French Rivera.

Take a nice stroll on the famous side walk and its wavy Portuguese stone pattern. Good for your health and your eye-sight! Amazing view over the Sugar Loaf, Niteroi and southern beaches across the Guanabara bay.

This is the road that runs alongside the famous beach. Nice cafes surround the beach along the avenue. Plenty of restaurants and hotels. The vendors are friendly.

Beeing here first time almost 30 years ago. Now in March, not so many tourists. The vibe of this beautiful avenue is somewhat decreased. No such exotic spirit as previously. However, there are still the cariocas and people make life. One has to experience it....More

The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional
and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood
is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and
traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of
everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs,
chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and
more live side-by-side. There are options for all
price points and tastes. However, the most powerful
