Seems like the tower has sustained some damage so the stairs are currently closed as they make repairs.

On tripadvisor there are two listings for the same place. The 'Leaning Tower of Inwa' and the 'Nanmyin watch tower' are the same. Visiting this tower was part of our trip to Innwa/Ava. Interesting but not a must see. It was not allowed to climb on it.

This is part of the cart tour. As you can no longer climb it or go in, it's beginning to be overcome by weeds & vines. The history is interesting. Your cart driver will stop here.

We only had a photo stop of this leaning tower of myanmar - but should be included when on a horse cart ride in the area.

Nanmyin Tower accessed by horse and cart and part of the tour of Inwa. No access to the public presumably due to its delicate leaning situation. We only stopped briefly for a photograph with no time to get closer or walk around it.

After the earthquake of November 11 , 2015 , Government doesn't allow to climb up to the top of Watch Tower! It is only one surviving building left from Old Innwa Royal Palace. The 30 Meters High masonry Watch Tower ( Called it in Burmese as Nan Myint Watch Tower! ) is leaning toward west. It is constructed in 1822... More

It is almost all what is left from kings palace. Sad to see, that nobody renovates this tower. I would not be surprised if it falls down one day!
