The trip is accessible by tuk tuk and a fair way out of the city. You go at dusk and sit below the cave to watch thousands or even millions of bats pour out of the cave. It continues for about half an hour continuously. Quite a spectacle.

I combined this with a visit to the killing caves and the local temple on the hill nearby. Get there 20 minutes before sunset, no need to hassle to get a seat close by. At dusk the bats swarm out and continue for up to an hour, but it's dark within 10 minutes so you can't see them after this.... More

Our driver / guide, Hen Buntha, took us here and it was fantastic! Get there early enough to head to the temple at the top of the mountain and see the Killing Caves and the incredible view, but stick around for the bats! Take the stairs at least one way - they're pretty impressive by themselves. There's not much I... More

a real impressive and unique experience. You have to wait the sunset and you will see for 45/60 minutes millions of bats leaving their cave all in a regular bat chain, THis attraciotn its near the killing cave, that you can visit as well , on your return way from the "monkeys temple".

Leave Battambang about 3:30 pm by tuktuk $15 rt. $1 non-Khmer ticket required. Walk or take motok $1.50) to top of the hill to see Khmer Rouge Killing Caves, temples and incredible scenic views. From the top, find the sometimes steep steps down, don't take the road back. Be down by 5:45 pm to see the bats fly. Grab a... More

The place is very touristy, and if you go there, you should go pay your respects to the nearby killing caves. It's a hike up! For the bat cave, no need to hike up as a restaurant lined up chairs so that you could see the approximate 6 millions of bats flying out of the cave at dusk. It is... More

Worth a look. Quite interesting. Tie the visit to the caves and summit. I probably wouldnt go just for the bats.

Grab a beer, take a seat and wait... thzt's what it's all about. You can hear the bats making noise and all off a sudden there they are: millions of bats flying out for the hunt! Impressive view, which can take for more than 20 minutes... Don't expect to be alone there ;-)

Really amazing sight. The bats are tiny but there are millions of them and it's a bit like a starling display - they make some of the same shapes together. Don't sit directly under the bats - you'll be hit by guano!
