This pagoda is very old with interest history between Khmer and Thai. The design is different from other Khmer pagodas. So it is worth to visit and it is in the town not suburb just spend 10minutes to walk from the market.

Visited it on my third day in Battambang. NO entrance fee! The white elephants and other statues are located behind the pagoda. There is also a school near these statues. Learned from my tuktuk driver the difference between a pagoda and a temple. Pagodas have stupas while temples do not. Stupas are used to place ashes of the deceased. Fancy... More

I learned that my maternal family went to school here decades ago and wanted to see it. The temple has not be restored, it's the same as it was 100 years ago. Even the elephant isn't really white anymore, but more of a chipped elephant. The inside of the temple is peaceful, beautiful and ornate.

No matter what religious we are, this white elephant pagoda described a lot of its interesting story and all the carving, statues and overall atmosphere 90% remain the same as its original design. Located in the central of the province, this pagoda is nearby the old french colonel building inside the governor office. Don't miss to visit both attraction and... More

One of a few monasteries in Battambang worth to visit during, for instance, a bicycle trip through the city. Especially the statues and images surrounding the white elephant statues in front of the vihara are, however not very elaborately carved, at least interesting and dramatic.

My wife and I had a look around, and we were impressed with the pagoda. They are restoring this pagoda, and it will look great when finished. Our Tuk Tuk driver told us the story behind the other ststues outside the Pagoda, which were so interesting.

While I was in high school, I used to learn English there and since then there are a lot of tourists coming to visit this beautiful Wat (pagoda) located along Street 2, Battambang city, Cambodia.

This old charming pagoda has as its main feature the beautiful statues of elephants, buddhas, and also the interesting depiction of a dead man being mourned by his father. The surroundings are also very interesting, with a nicely engraved and decorated temple and the traditional monks walking around make for excellent pictures. Worth the visit.

The white elephant is very nice as are a few other statues. But, the poor guy on the ground, blood and guts hanging out with birds eating him up, is not so nice. The grounds have some interesting things to see and reflect upon. Except for a few of us from our tour group, the place was very quiet. It... More
