Interesting fort and history. But probably the best plan is to take the half hour hike up to the Mirador and look at the fort on the way. Great views from the top

It is about 3 km from the center of San Pedro and very easy to find. The ruins are ok. But there is a path going to the top of the mountain with a couple of scenic views along the way. It is perhaps another...More

I visited Pukara de Quitor along with Aldea de Tulor (see separate review) on a half day tour out of San Pedro. It was well worth the time to visit these culturally and historically significant sights. You learn about the history of the Fort, the...More

Don't bother renting a bike - its a 30 min walk from town and you'll probably get a lift. The ruins weren't of much interest and the information on boards was flakey. But the views walking up to the top were great making it worth...More

Pukara de Quitor is one of the few places close enough to San Pedro to be easily accesible by bike, yet very different. The view from the top is well worth the hike, as is the historical value of the site.

This is an old fortress going back several hundreds years. The conquistadors destroyed it. What else is new ! The site is somewhat desorganised and in need of a some major repairs. You can walk around and go on the top, but be very careful....More

We biked here on our own and spent a good hour here looking at the Fort and how it was used for trading and defensive purposes. It also has some good views of de Atacama. Worth a look.

Its located about 3km out of town and we could walk there even it was hot. To the lookout it takes about 30-40mins from the entrance. The view was great, over San Pedro to the Volcanoes. Entrance was 3000clp and it was worth it. Also...More

It was a hill top fort made of same material as hill, so bit difficult to get good photos of it. There is a nice climb to a Mirador with great views. I went on a mountain bike but you could walk from San Pedro....More

In a very nice location, you need to do a good effort to see everything but the view on the top are gorgeous. The people in charge of the the ruin has some drinks for sale which is so good at the end. Nice place.
