We didn't get inside this mosque, but saw it from the outside while on a walk down Tumen Street in Quanzhou. This is the earliest surviving Islamic mosque in China, dating from 1009.

The doors were locked but you could glimpse the old ruins from the street. It’s worth going for the history and because it’s near the rest of the temples.

Supposedly the oldest mosque in China. We didn’t go inside as it was closed when we arrive. The mosque is located very near the Kaiyuan temple and also the Kuan Kong temple.

You are free to roam about and take pictures so long as you do not walk into the prayer hall (whether a solat is in session or not). The only oddity is that they charge an entrance fee.
