A group of really lovely Qing Dynasty buildings still in very good condition that's well worth a visit for fans of ancient architecture. It's a pity that they built an ugly building directly in front of them.

The locals like it but it is not for westerners , very corny , staged , bored people going through the motions

This village does seem genuine as opposed to many fake places built only recently to take tourists' money. No need to buy a ticket, just stroll in and walk between the old houses in the narrow alleys. Some houses are open, offering a glimpse into the living conditions of rural Chinese. Pros: no souvenir shop at every corner Cons: not really a lot to see.this might have been coz some areas (eg "new house" complex) were off limits coz they were fixing the exterior That said, the story about the general and the feng shui that changed bec of the new house constructed in the area, was fascinating. great living village of a disappearing chinese village architectural style. the guide and residents where very friendly to allow this intimate experience.
