Luoyang has a very long history and had been capital for many dynasties, if you want to learn about it, here is the best place for you to visit.

Given that Louyang can be very hot this is a great activity to not only escape the heat but get a taste of culture. There are a lot of pottery on display as well as stone carvings from the famous grotto.

A museum about the Tang Dynasty heritage of Luoyang featuring paintings, ceramics, artwork, and historical models. Museum is nicely designed, new and huge; but not yet filled with exhibits leaving lots of empty space. You can visit the whole site in an hour

Worth visiting both as they have different collections. Also the Luoyang museum is free you just bring your passport and show it to them at the ticket office and you get free tickets.
