Spent half a day walking the grounds. They advertise that this is the largest collection of Wedgewood in the states and I would be hard pressed to deny this. Ample seating through out the facilities. Very knowledgeable staff when approached with questions. Plan on the visit taking 2-3 hours with breaks, donations are recommended at the door ($3), there is... More

Fantastic evening on the terrace with dancing, dinner in the galleries surrounded by fabulous artwork. Permanent collections are stunning lots of lectures, cafe inside also has a jazz brunch on Sundays.

The collection is not big but very diverse - it contains a little bit of everything. It is free. We parked at the parking garage a block away, but there seems to be a parking lot at the back of the museum (entrance at the Richard Arrington JR. Blvd.)

To start with, it's rare to find public amenities that are free these days and Birmingham has two jewels--the art museum and the botanical garden. Everyone who can pay should of course make a donation but it's nice to find excellent cultural attractions where people who don't have funds are not excluded. We only had an hour but enjoyed the... Not large but very diverse collection. Individual pieces have been carefully selected. Very nice layout. Admission by voluntary donation.

Birmingham Museum of Art. I’d been there before. The museum is free and their collection of paintings isn’t bad, but there were few stand-outs. Worth a visit.

Ok, I'm giving this a 4, not because it ranks up there with New York or Boston or Chicago but because for a medium sized city in the south, this is a pretty good museum. I traveled a lot in my career and whenever I had time I would visit the local art museum and more often than not disappointed.... More

I had forgotten just how good the B'Ham Museum of Art really was, it's been awhile since we have visited. This is a top-notch offering.

Can't beat the price. Spent about 2 hours there and saw everything. The Asian art exhibit was enjoyable. Many beautiful artifacts. Not much artwork from highly known artist.

Couldn't visit the entire museum but what I could was fine. Best of all was the restaurant in the second floor! They have a souvenir shop, also a good one
