If you had too much with the ancient city, heads out to the mountain (there's cable cars) for different view of the town.

There are several cable cars op to the mountains around Dali. One of them to the east goes up to the dragons cave with the maiden pool. the lighting inside is very nice but it gets very crowded.

The ride to the island is long, but the walk around the island and observing the islanders was cool.

We can enjoy the landscape which clouds bring and go back and forth. I'll recommend to take it for about 2 hours by sightseeing boat.

This mountain is amazing, it can be a little crowded, but if on the walk way you head south, you will find yourself away from most people and when you get to the cable cart, do not take it!! Go down the mountain by foot,...More

Nice place to go to breath fresh air, have a nice view and climb stairs. Sports shoes are recommended and something to drink.

There are two different cable cars to mid-level (3000 meters) or the higher one 3900 meters. I've tried two this year and last year. Both worth going. Nice view

Take the day and hike up the mountain from inside a cave. Very different. Amazing views of Erhai lake from the top. When you go down, try the local teas. Buy a Rmb70 ticket for a great 3 tour experience.

Beautiful views, nice to get out of the hectic old town for a day. There's even someone selling food up there and you can find some walking trails, some buddhist temples..
