The black dragon pond park is a really pleasant day out, we were lucky to have a very warm and sunny day. I think you could still enjoy it on colder days but the sun makes all the difference for the views/photos! We decided to hike up the mountain as well, you can enter this near the museum within the... I hiked through the local park to come to the pond and I highly suggest going past the temple up into the hills, you'll see the city from above!

The park is well maintained and the lake has a reflection of the snow dragon mountain. We saw snow on the mountain top in May. There is a nice walk way around the lake with shops and a Temple. A beautiful bridge and lots of photo stops.

Great Feng Shui! Beautiful park with loads of beautiful flowers, shrubs, trees and water. Nice walking paths and occasional benches for resting. Phenomenal view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain across the lake. Great photo op.

You can reach Black Dragon Pond by following the river north out of Lijiang Old Town. The route to the pond is fairly stark as they are currently doing lots of building work. Once you arrive there are beautiful scenic areas around the pond, with bridges and covered walkways all with the mountain in the background offering multiple photo &... More

This was one of our favourite places in Lijiang. If the weather is good and the sky's are clear you can see Jade Snow mountain across the lakes and ponds. It's like a Chinese movie set with beautiful old pagodas and bridges and waterfalls. Highly recommended. You can walk it easily from Lijiang old town. Just follow the river path... More

Beautiful park set in very peaceful surroundings. Even more beautiful in spring with the pink cherry blossoms. Great view of Snow mountain when it is not cloudy. Tourists need to pay a small fee to enter the old town and park.

Beautiful, iconic views of Jade Snow Mountian frame the 5 arch bridge and pagoda - perfect for avid photographers! Wander through the park as each new view brings thoughts of how perfectly beautiful the setting really is. For some strange reason the taxi driver said the water is low - not so - every view is perfect! We went about... More

This park is absolutely wonderful. It surrounds a small lake formed by the outflow of a large natural spring. It is said that there are great views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain but it was cloudy on our visit and we missed that. Photo opportunities abound as there are picturesque buildings and a fancy white bridge as well as the... More
