This was a delightful treat in so many respects. The old house of Bukovac as well as being his studio on the second floor. Allow yourself a good hour to really appreciate the richness and to be absorbed by the ambiance of the artist's original home. The old wooden stairs was a delight; the rooms were all so different in... More

This museum is set in an early eighteenth century house on a shady lane of Cavtat. It was the childhood home of artist Vlaho Bukovac and he also spent four years of his adult life in the town. The little house museum has early wall murals of his throughout the house, but the real treasures are the many original paintings... More

The life and work of the artist presented in his old home and atelier are like a rare gem. The variety of the paintings and fainted murals tell of an unusual talent. Absolutely worthwhile to see.

Tucked away in one of the many narrow, steep lanes this is a fascinating house in which Bukovac lived. Still undergoing restoration the walls show the paintings with which he decorated them. The gallery at the top of the house is filled with his paintings which show his amazing range and versatility. Especially fine are his portraits.

Really interesting to someone who has a passing interest in art. Worth the entry fee and takes about an hour. Do you think the artist's style varies massively?

A surprise in a little village. The house is a short climb from the harbour. An insight into the life of someone who had a passion for art.

Bukovac was a 19th century impressionist painter and one of Croatia's best. His house is well worth visiting and there is a good collection of his paintings.

I had never heard of Vlaho Bukovac before our visit but he led an amazing life travelling the world and earning wide admiration for his work. There are many originals displayed and his impressionistic work is especially worth seeing. However go particularly to see the house. The room made out as his studio is very evocative and tells his life... More
