We felt lucky because we arrived at the cathedral just as it opened at 5:00 p.m. This is a beautiful sacred space and it wasn't overrun by tourists. I took a few pictures and it was only as we were exiting that I learned this was not allowed. So I feel the pictures that are attached to this review are... More

Try to go early and see it before it gets too crowded. But either way, you can't miss it. Plus, wander the streets nearby, it's a charming city.

Travelling to Hvar was wonderful, the town is peaceful and clean. The cleanliness is amazing and the people who work are incredibly friendly. The catherdral is certainly beautiful and steeped in history

Went to Sunday Mass here. Was said in Croatian as one might expect but they did have Newsletters for various Nationalities including an English version with the Readings and Gospel on. There is an English Mass available. Church was very ornate and well attended.

I tried to find out before arrival when are services in Hvar but I did not find such information. Now I enclose current info. The cathedral has some nice pictures, mostly a bit "heavy" baroque interior, party not so beautiful elements but when you look for a place to pray it is a right place for you.

In the centre & focal point of Hvar Town. Cathedral is the dominant street scape of the square Visually the interior is nothing out of the ordinary & you really need to brief yourself of it's history to get most out of your visit

Every town has to have something religious. The stephens cathedral is nothing special really. Not worth the time to visit, especially when the weather is nice and you could chill on the beach

A simple cathedral with a basic decoration. Only 10kn to enter and there is information around the cathedral in several languages about the essentials and history of the cathedral. If you have spare time it is worth a visit but not the highest priority. Ensure you are dressed modestly otherwise you will be denied entrance.
