Was unsure about visiting in winter, but went in mid January in the snow & loved it. The park is beautiful and a good walk because at any given moment there is something beautiful to look at. Plenty of walking to be done, but individual routes well labelled so you can adjust your trip accordingly - some uphill walking but... More

It's strikingly beautiful as if there are some elves living in the park. Water in the park is the most transparent water I've ever seen in my life. Walking takes long time but there's no hard climbing. The wooden road can be narrow and crowded.

Amazing, unique. If you are ever in Croatia this is a must see place. Lots and lots of walking and picture taking. Make sure to dedicate the whole day for visiting Plitvice if you want to see everything!

I don't even know where to begin with this one. This place is out of this world stunning. Everywhere you look its magnificent nature. The park is clean, the water is crystal clear. There are lots of places to sit and even more places to take pictures. Every background is gorgeous. The only thing here is that its a long... More

Do not miss! The crowds can be large but absolutely worth it. Make sure to get up above the waterfalls (can be accessed from the road) to see the beautiful view of the waterfalls and lakes. We accessed from a staircase to the left of the largest waterfall.

This was our third visit to Croatia, we were staying in Porec so we decided this time we would do some excursions. We knew the Plitvice Lakes was a long day excursion but we wanted to visit. It was a great but very tiring day. We went on a guided tour and I think we must have walked continually for... More

We visited the park in a day trip from Split (more than 3h driving); by the end of the day we were very tired, but it's feasible. In the park, we followed walking path C. It probably covers all the beautiful spots in a day of walk (we started around 10:30 and finished around 16:30). If you can, bring your... More

We visited with two large dogs and we were amazed that dogs are allowed even on the boats and trains. Of course, dogs have to be on a leash in the whole area of the Park. We visited in the winter and it as amazing, not much people, the ticket is cheaper and the landscape is beautiful covered in snow... More

Went during winter (hence was not expecting much in terms of flora and fauna) and was taken aback by the breathtaking view of the largest waterfall in Croatia!! Half of the waterfall is frozen and it looked great. I thought I entered a picture

I came here late October and have to say it was a great time to come as the autumnal leaves were beautiful. The waters are very clear and a beautiful turquoise colour. We decided to do one of the big loops, but the opposite way so as to not meet as many tourists. At points, our group was actually on... More
