The visit of the small town of Rovinj must start from this Arch, just at the beginning of the visit of the town. It has also a turkish decoration on the back side of the arch.

Literally a gate to the Old Town in Rovinj, nice old piece of architecture, you cannot miss it while walking around Rovinj.

Nice Arch in old town, you pass to join a nice square; Perhaps it's a Turkish Arch; it's a must to visit the old part of Main Square.

Rovinj was merely a night stop for us. We only started sightseeing on 12 Nov morning as it was raining heavily on 11 Nov when we arrived and we just hibernated in our hotel. We chanced upon Balbi Arch as it was sandwiched between our hotel (Hotel Adriatic) and another building that was under renovation. It was somewhere there that... More

This was once the main gateway to the old town. There is a Venetian head at the top of the arch on one side and a Turkish head on the other. You don't really need to make an effort to visit this place. You'll normally walk past it in the main square. Do read the history of this gate before... More

This arch is at the bottom of a long narrow street, and they were doing some work on it, so i nearly missed it. It is decorated differently on each side and again is a must do if you are in Rivinj.

the gate was the main entrance to the old town of Rovinj and in front of it was a bridge crossing to the mainland until the 18th century when the waterway was filled in and became a street.

Nothing much to see. Very built up around it but not unlike other historic places. Massive disappointment after Dubrovnik

On the main square you will found Balbi's Arch. Nice to see. From here you will enter in old part of town, this is the way to church st.Eufemija. Rovinj is much nicer in this part, old streets, houses, here you can find nice souvenirs for reasonable price...
