Better than the zoo!

This park is full of lazy and interesting looking iguanas. There is always something to see and do so we want to make sure you put this on your walking tour route for Guayaquil.

Also known as Parque Bolivar, a well-treed park with lots of benches. The big attraction is the many large iguanas wandering around plus turtles and many large Koi in a pond. Kids ( and adults) love it.

It was charming to see local people reading and just enjoying the park and to see the iguanas milling around. It could be a lot cleaner as there is pigeon poop everywhere. There is a small pond with numerous turtles that looked like it was teaming with E. coli. Despite this I would recommend checking it out as it was... More

This was a nice place to spend some down time. Relaxing on a park bench, watching the iguanas. A great place to stay is Hotel Continental across the street.

This is a small park - about one city block. In the middle there are about 20 land iguanas, feeding on some vegetables provided by the authorities. Rather disappointing if you have visited the Galapagos islands. The church next door is more interesting.

Very interesting park where iguanas roam freely. It is located right in the city of Guayaquil so it is quite fascinating to see so many iguanas wandering around. The park is small. There are also turtles in the park and fish.

Always something on the move, be it Iguanas, turtles, fish, pigeons or humans. A seat in the park is wonderful for "watching"

It is quite surrealistic to visit this park. There are plenty of pigeons to feed, but why not feed the Iguanas that are all over the park instead. You can buy corn (for the pigeons) or salat (for the Iguanas) for $1 in the park. You can get very close to the animals when feeding - carefully with the Iguanas... More
