2 Day 1 Night White Desert Tour

Hamada was very professional and gave us a great tour all over white desert. He gave us an option to camp on our own or where most of the other tours would be camping. We chose to find our own place to camp and had a great private spot where we enjoyed sun set and then a great supper.

Great family trip

This trip gave our family a lifetime of memories in just two days. We never expected the desert to be so fascinating, with its varied landscapes and incredible rock formations. We enjoyed being able to walk around the desert when we stopped at different landmarks and we felt very relaxed. The camping was fun, especially for our children. Hamada and his friendly team took care of everything and gave us a unique chance to enjoy local dishes and gain some understanding of Bedouin culture. We will definitely return for a longer trip.

Magic desert

Hamada is a very professional guide and he knows the desert as his own home. His team is very positive and supportive. The food was just awesome, better than in Cairo restaurants. Organization was quite good, the guide is always trying to find the best place for the camp and photo spots, according to the group needs. Thanks for the wonderful trip King of Desert :)

If you're in Cairo for more than a few days, this is a must!

Hamada is a great host, who has been doing this for many years. The experience left us camping in an extremely remote location in the desert, gazing under stars so bright we could visibly see the milky way in the sky. If you like camping, deserts, or both, I highly recommend this tour. If you aren't really a camping person, you can also rest assured that everything is taken care of for you. Great food and company, beautiful scenery, an unforgettable adventure. Thank you!

P.S. If you are planning this tour, make sure to figure out when sunrise is to happen and wake up 10-15 min before. Watching the sun rise in pure silence and seclusion was magical.

Martian landscape in Egypt

It was great trip in the middle of Egypt. We could see white dessert, black dessert, Al Gabar and etc. It was fantastic landscapes as you were on other planet. I am really surprised that dessert can be so various, so contrast and unpredictable.
I appreciate the strengths of local Egyptian team who supported us each minute of trip. I fell in love the cooking of Salah. Each day we received new dish - rise with chicken and eggplant's ragout were my favourite ones. And I appreciated a lot places for camps that were without people in the middle of hit places.

Best Desert experience (and best egyptian food)

Hamada is the most welcoming and knowledgeable guide of the desert. We were received in his hotel in the oasis for a delicious lunch before departing for the desert. Two of us were vegetarian so he had this in consideration throughout the whole tour. He is very experienced driving in the desert and everything went smoothly. The dinner he and Ahmet prepared in the desert was the most comforting food we had in Egypt. Breakfast had everything we could ask for. I only wish we would have stayed for longer. 100% recommend this tour with Hamada.

Incredible Desert Safari

We had an incredible 2-day White Desert tour with Hamada, the true local who has been doing the desert safari tour for 20 years. He tells great stories in perfect English. Over the 2 days, we saw a few sites in unforgettable Black desert, Crystal mountain and White desert, watched sunset and sunrise, slept under the stars including most epic Milky Way, ate the freshly prepared food. The whole safari was very well organized and thought through. Go to Hamada’s tour website and contact him directly, his tour is fair priced and flexible on the dates.

Amazing Trip

We did the white desert trip (1 night) now for the second time. You will be picked up at your location and brought to the ecolodge (a unique hostel) from where the safari starts. The trip was amazing. We saw the black desert, crystal mountain and the white desert. The guide prepared everything very well. They serve delicious food, set up the camp with tents and make a fire. The cars are 4x4 off-road vehicles and work well in this area. You feel safe all the way. The guide speaks English and is very kind. I would do it again even for more than 1 night.

Dear Travellers and Egypt Staff, I have read raving reviews about the Desert Safari. I would like to know which year did you undertake the desert safari and the pricing. My travel agent is advising against the same due to the aerial attack on Mexican tourists in 2015 by Egyptian forces. I would like to know whether it is safe or not to go for desert safari now. I am travelling in March. Thanks, Urbashi

We travelled into the White Desert in December 2017. We never felt threatened in Egypt, and have recommended the safari to many friends. Our safari cost US$140 per person per day. I hope that helps.

I just received the following message from a major local tour operator, "Unfortunately desert and safari activities in all parts of Egypt’s western deserts and oases (Bahariya, Farafra, the White Desert, Dakhla and Kharga) are banned in the time being and no one knows when it will be lifted. The Egyptian authorities have made this decision almost a year ago". Is this true? Thanks.

We visited in March 2017. At that point of time also a tour operator had said the same thing but actually there was no such ban. For current status write to any tour company which does white desert tours specifically and they will give you the latest information.
