Mohammed and Salah were perfectly organised and the camping was so comfortable. Full service provided with top class spread of food even in the dessert. Views were too good and the guys took a lot of effort to make this experience special. Highly recommend.

Kotaby Bahariya tour organised such a wonderful tour for us. We were family of 4 . Mohammad and Salah gave us the five star experience in the white desert area. We had a camp stay there. These guys have such a wonderful setup for camping right from chairs to sleeping bags and rugs. They prepared the food which was mind blowing both at night and in the morning for breakfast. They carried all the necessary things, no compromise on anything.
They showed us many things on the way like black desert, natural springs, white desert, crystal mountains , many rock formations like chicken mushroom.Sunset, sunrise and starry night watching was out of the world. Actually I felt 2 days are very less, should have been for 3-4 days .

Mohammed is a great guide, cook and easy going guy, after 2 hours you feel like you know each other for ages. The car is great. Campsite made by him has everything you wouldn't even think of, all clean, really well organized. Trip to a desert with Mohammed and his lentil soup is something you can't miss! Simply fabulous!! I would like to highly recommend the stay in the desert with Mohammed Kotaby. We -two girls travelled to the White Desert with him in his amazing 4*4 car with the AC, and it was an unbelievable experience! He showed us many different places, cooked a 4- course meal from scratch right there in the camping. He had everything you needed there, even the table and chairs . We were really safe and felt like he was our old friend. Don't hesitate and write a what's up message to Mohammed, you will not regret it. In total, the desert trip was the best that happened to us in Egypt.

Mohamed Al Kotaby was the tour guide whom I came in touch with after reading TripAdvisor reviews. He's a hard-working, knowledgeable guy, always eager to help. He's very responsive to texts on WhatsApp..was always ready to accommodate any of my requests
We were a family of 4, me, my wife and two kids, 6&9..we were looked after very well..Good food, freshly cooked by Mohamed himself in open fire was one of the highlights..
He provided us with spacious and comfortable cars
Tents and sleeping bags were of good quality as well
We enjoyed our time with Mohamed in the desert and I wouldn't hesitate recommending him to anybody who wants to go on this adventure

I found bahariya desert to be very unique and out of the world experience! If you travel to Egypt, add bahariya to your list. It’s worth seeing and camping in the middle of the desert. I’ll post some pics.
We saw black, crystal, and white deserts in the bahariya area along with hot and cold springs.
Saw millions of stars and sunset and sunrise was amazing! Totally different experience and it really made all of us happy.

In March 2023, we have been on a private tour to the black and white desert and to the Bahariya oasis with Mohamed Kotaby.
IT WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!
We have organized our Egypt trip by ourselves. We needed to get picked up from Cairo and a transfer to Hurghada after the desert tour. We began our planning 5 months before. Mohamed assisted very well from the beginning, asked for our wishes and kept in contact with us via WhatsApp in a very nice way. He speaks/writes English very fluent.
He promised an excellent experience - and that is what we got!
Everything worked out, from the on-time pick up with a comfortable car, the warm welcome in the hotel in the oasis, the trip through the desert with stops at interesting places, the on site cooked food, the overnight stay in the desert, to the arrival at the oasis hotel. Here, we got a beautiful room in typical Nubian style.
After a short break, we were taken to a trip by Jeep through the oasis with its countless palms, the lake and hot springs.
Back to the hotel, we were awaited with a tasty dinner.
Through the whole tour, Mohamed and his assistant Heyla ensured that we enjoy the time and that we can relax while having much to experience.
For dinner we got served salad, bread, dips, snacks, rice and chicken cooked on fire. Very delicious! A little advice: Mohamed will ask you in advance what kind of meat you like to eat. Forget the chicken and go for the very tasty camel meat!
On the first day after 5 months of planning, we met our tour guide. On the third day, we said good-bye to a friend.
Also, the 7 hours transfer to Hurghada worked well and we arrived on time at our next hotel.
We can recommend this tour for everybody who wants to have an experience off the regular touristic impressions. It is suitable for everybody who can take a walk on the beach.

ES WAR PHANTASTISCH!
Wir hatten unsere Reise individuell geplant und brauchten eine Abholung aus Cairo und einen anschließenden Transfer nach Hurghada. Bereits 5 Monate vorher begannen wir mit unserer Planung und Mohamed stand uns von Anfang an mit Rat und Tat zur Seite, hat unsere Wünsche abgefragt und auch im Vorfeld immer wieder auf sehr nette Art und Weise per WhatsApp den Kontakt gehalten. Er spricht wirklich gut Englisch.
Er versprach uns ein exzellentes Erlebnis - und das hatten wir. Es hat wirklich alles geklappt! Von einer pünktlichen Abholung in einem sehr bequemen Wagen über einen netten Empfang im späteren Hotel in der Oase, die Reise und die Stopps an den interessanten Stellen, das selbst gekochte Essen mit Lagerfeuer, Übernachten in der Wüste bis hin zur Ankunft in der Oase. Hier haben wir ein wirklich tolles Zimmer im typisch nubischen Stil erhalten. Nach einer kurzen Erholung ging es mit dem Jeep weiter durch die Oase mit ihren unzähligen Palmen, dem See und den heißen Quellen.
Zurück im Hotel erwartete uns ein sehr leckeres Abendessen.
Während der gesamten Tour erhielten wir das rundum-sorglos-Paket. Mohamed und die Begleiterin Heyla waren ständig darauf bedacht, dass es uns gut geht, wir alles genießen können, Ruhe und Entspannung finden und trotzdem viel erleben.
Während das Wüsten-Nachtlager aufgebaut wurde, durften wir es uns mit Getränken im Schatten bequem machen und das nähere Wüstenumfeld erkunden.
Zum Abendessen gab es Salat, Brot, Dips, Knabbereien, Reis und Hühnchen. Es war alles frisch über dem Feuer gekocht und super lecker. Das Fleisch hatten wir uns zuvor nach WhatsApp-Anfrage von Mohamed ausgesucht. Kleiner Tipp: Verzichtet auf das Hühnchen und wagt euch an Kamelfleisch! Es ist sehr lecker!
Am ersten Tag haben wir nach 5 Monaten Planung unseren Tour-Guide persönlich kennengelernt. Am dritten Tag haben wir uns von einem Freund verabschiedet.
Auch der 7-stündige Transfer durch die Wüste bis nach Hurghada hat hervorragend geklappt und wir waren pünktlich zur gewünschten Zeit in unserem Ferienhotel angekommen.
Ein wirklich empfehlenswertes Reiseerlebnis abseits der ausgelatschten Touristenpfade. Für jeden geeignet, der auch am Strand spazieren gehen kann.

Koteiby was really very professional. I organized a retreat for 3 days with a group of ladies. He arranged hotel booking as well as the camping site. The hotel was very nice and the camp was above out expectations. Great food as well was cooked for us in the desert camp. He made sure that we see all the sites as he is very proud of his origin and that is why I chose him.

THE BEST REVIEWED TOUR GUIDE of White Desert and Bahariya Oasis, Mohamed Kotaby, exceeded our expectation and we had an incredible trip. While planning for the trip, I had extensively and carefully researched for a reliable and highly reviewed guide as this was a trip for 2 females and one was a minor. After doing some research, I found Mohamed and people’s mounting accolades about his professionalism gave me confidence to contact him. That was the best decision which we had made for this Egypt trip and White Desert became the highlight of the entire trip. Mohamed was so professional, organized, and detail oriented. He is a phenomenal cook and surprised us with my daughter's birthday cake (I just briefly mentioned about her birthday when I started communicating with Mohamed about our trip plan.) I have never once questioned my safety and was able to fully enjoy the experience. He grew up in the Bahariya and is a 3rd generation of Bedouin tour guide so he knew the desert like his backyard. He toured us around the places which were just out of this world. I have traveled not only many deserts but also dozens of countries yet I found this White Desert to be extremely unique and totally worth to put the visit on your bucket list of your life and I cannot think of a better guide than Mohamed.

Had a good trip with Mohamed, very good cook too. He was also attentive to ensure we have arrived back our hotel at Cairo Airport safely after the desert trip. It was an all ladies trip and felt safe with him

I am planning a visit to the white and bkack desert in April berween 2 to 5 this year. Akso intend to stsy in Csiro. I read different information and safety alerts. Should I defer ? Anyone been to these parts recently ? What is the situation like ?

Cairo and the desert are safe to travel. I don't recommend visiting Sinai though unless prepared to travel with security convoy
