Nice church for a quick visit

Nice little church which may be good goal if you want to stroll though Ohrid, perhaps while you're underway to the St. Jovan Kaneo, which is more spectacular. Beautiful views and... read more

It's a holy and archaeological place, a must see in Ohrid. The church was built in the 9th century on the foundation of an early Christian basilica. St. Clement was buried in this monastery, in the tomb which was built by his own hands. You can also see the mosaic floors which date from the period between 4th and 6th... More

This place is in the process of renovation, rebuilding and building. That makes not a very best impression when You visiting. Hardly find a place to make a pic, without construction. Also, have to be mentioned, that all of this place is rebuild from 0 and is not authentic.

Very nice place to visit. Entrance is free of charge and inside You can buy candles and light them. Also the outside of the building is pretty amazing and the view over the lake from here is unbelievable. We took some time just to sit outside the church and just enjoy the view.

Plaoshnik really is a great place to visit. Couple of years is builded on the basic of the very old churches, here is the oldest part of the town with so many archeological artefacts. And have a wonderful panoramic view on the lake

it was a small church and a restaurant near, with archeological remnants all around still 5 years ago, now there is an entrance fee and they are building more and more new concrete buildings.

Lovely place - full of history and outstanding view over the Ohrid lake. Indeed, it was extremely interesting to see this ancient building from St. Kliment's and St Naum's times and this kind of university that brought, together with Preslav school, the enlightenment in the Slavic World. I would appreciate if more info could be exposed for visitors about the... More

Plaošnik is an archaeological site close to Samuel's Fortress and is overlooked by St Clements Church. The site is hugely significant as there are many interesting discoveries from the past. The baptistery within the complex has intricate mosaic floors, unfortunately alot of the relics have been lost over time but in the future the site is planning to have konaks,... More

I wouldn't make a special trip just to see this church, as I thought Saint Sophia was more beautiful and Jovan Kaneo had much better views. BUT its located between the fortress and Jovan Kaneo, both of which were must-visits for me, so it wasn't an inconvenience to visit. Its an uphill trek to get here though. There is lots... More
