Let's get this out of the way. The church itself is tiny......and very dark inside. It's not really worth paying to go inside, there's better churches for that in Ohrid. However.....going here is a must when visiting Ohrid. This was the best place I saw in Macedonia. The views over the lake are drop dead gorgeous, and walking here after... More

This is a beautiful old church overlooking the lake only 15 minute walk from old town of ohrid. We were here when weather not great & still stunning. Not sure how crowded it would get in summer.

My favorite place in Ohrid. If you are visiting Ohrid than you must go here. A quiet and relaxing place with a great view of the lake. The best period of the day to be here is in the afternoon, when you can enjoy the sunset.

It has amazing view and is really calming. Definitely worth a visit. They charge a small fee for the entrance into the church.

If you are lucky enough it's going to be summer, red sun is going down, a multitude of birds is flying around you, reflection from bright water is shining and you propose your girl on the cliff by the church...a fairy tale. Just if you are lucky enough ...

Popular viewpoint. I don't think you can go inside but it makes for a great photo opportunity on the edge of the lake.

With Lake Ohrid stretching out behind it, a visit to St. Jovan Kaneo is a must when in town. Easy to walk to from the centre of town, during summer it can get really busy with tourists but is worth seeing regardless. Kaneo Beach is down below and when you're having a drink or dinner from here this building sits... More

It is definitely worth visiting. One of the best panoramas I have ever seen in Europe. Very cozy park on the shore. You can visit it going from the city or from the castle. There is also possible to get here by boat from the harbour. St. Jovan Kaneo is amazingly beatiful from all the angles.

St Jovan Kaneo is a landmark church by Lake Ohrid that no tourist should miss. I used to think this was the main or only spot worth visiting in Macedonia (and certainly I proved to be totally wrong). The church itself is very small by all standards and looks very similar to a few others in the ancient city of... More
