Deeg as a palace is quite beautiful & well maintained but it is strictly for history buffs The approach road is painful with no signs & you have to ask your way It had some majestic gardens & working fountains which are open only once a year Apart from that there is a huge monkey menace which can be scary... Its a nice place for people who like to visit palaces or forts or historical places. Its about 45-1 hr drive from bharatpur/ mathura. I did not explore anything else in the town, only the Palace. The town is very small but the palace is quite a huge complex. Surrounded by water body (but not clean water). Has potential to... More

The place is easily approachable from Bharatpur and has a beautiful palace built by the first Jat Maharaja Surajmal. Not much mentioned in Indian history about him during the reign of Aurangzeib.Best time to visit during holi mahotsava during March ,1 week before the festival of colors. Would visit again during that period in future.

This Palace is different from other traditional Palaces. The main attraction of this Palace is its fountains. These fountains runs on a traditional system. It doesn't needs any motors or electricity to run these fountains.

This fort basically situated approx 30 km away from Bharatpur railway station . You can hire a taxi or can get public transport buses . I visited this fort in March and I think that march month is best to visit this fort cause of holi festival and You can see local culture there .

Visiting this place was a bad choice we made during our short trip to Bharatpur. Heard a lot about this place which is approximately 35 kms from Bharatpur city. Car Parking- FREE Though the Palace is wonderful but it is not well maintained. River around the palace is badly spoiled, water seemed to be rotten and was smelling badly. Undoubtedly,... More
