This is a beautiful and huge palace with a lot of treasures in its architecture. Just that the place is not very well maintained but authorities there are real helpful people. They showed me rooms with beautiful murals in it , specially the badal mahal. They keep some of these rooms locked up as visitors have destroyed a lot of... More

This ramshackle palace is fantastic. There are no crowds or hawkers so you are free to wander as you wish and let the palace enchant you. There are several rooms with exquisite paintings and features of other palaces on a more maneagable scale. The views over the old town show the blue brahman houses to best advantage.

Worth a visit any time - just for the miniature style of paintings in the different "mahals". There is an interesting mix of Hindu and Mughal architecure.

We loved the lack of crowds and the peacefulness. Also we rather liked the fact that it has'nt been much restored as although some areas are in quite bad condition it felt more genuine. The murals are spectacular and we had an excellent guide who made the whole place come alive. His father was responsible for discovering the prehistoric caves... More

After visiting palaces and forts in Jaipur and Udaipur, this was a marked contrast. An impressive structure, affording wonderful views, but it has not been well maintained. Compared to the 150 rupees for entrance in the other fantastic palaces, the 500 rupee entrance is very steep by Indian standards. I understand that the cost has recently been increased 500% and... This palace had many beautiful wall murals and so many gorgeous wall paintings ...a really lovely place. It would have been a beautiful palace in its time ( 1607 ) or so I believe. The entrance fee was 100 Rupees each PLUS 50 rupees to use our camera. I would highly recommend this place.

Great old palace. Partly reconstructed. That part is worth visiting. Close to the fort, but little difficult to walk. Wonderful view from the top of the palace. Nice restaurant at the gate of the palace

Garh palace is the lower section of the magnificent taragarh fort. This particular section of the Garh palace i.e the chitrashala is very well kept and has all the paintings that dates back to its original painting period. Fantastic turquoise wall paintings is a must visit. A natural photo clicked here (with the surroundings and the bougainvillea at the backdrop)... More
