Its proportions and suitable representation makes one want to linger around it. As mentioned before the carvings are exquisite.

The impressive Tower of Victory, a symbol of Chittorgarh's glorious and tragic past. Three times the fort has been invaded - in 1303, 1535 and 1567 - and three times they were defeated. But despite impossible odds, their men bravely charged outside the walls to face certain death. When defeated, the women inside committed mass 'Jauhar' - self immolation -... More

The vijay sthamb inside chittorgarh fort is an architectural wonder. With more than 100 feet heigh it has several sculptures in its different levels. It is visible from almost all parts of the fort. This is accessible without any tickets.

The Vijay Stambha (Tower of Victory) or Jaya Stambha, called the symbol of Chittor and a particularly bold expression of triumph, was erected by Rana Kumbha between 1458 and 1468 to commemorate his victory over Mahmud Shah I Khalji

Actually far more impressive on site than can be captured in any photograph and well worth of a monument to victory.

This is the tallest structure in Chittaurgarh Fort. You can identify it from anywhere in the Chittaurgarh city including railway station. You are not permitted to go inside Vijay Stambh now because of some renovation work going on.
