We also went there by reading conflicting views. Nothing special about the travel up to check point. At checkpoint shabby minibuses are there to take further. The whole area is giving foul smell. The bus operator will start after collecting 17 persons other wise he will ask for 2400/ instead of 150/ per person. At Dhanushkodi nothing special and 10... More

20km drive from rameshwaram temple in the recently built road. Personal vehicles are stopped near check post and from there private operator vehicle is used to ferry to visit the end village. Clean beach to view a sunset that remain with you for your life. This place has significance of its own that few feel it in their visit.

Took a Jeep from Rameswaram town to go to a place beyond Dhanushkodi. The road is excellent until this point and it is around 20 kms from Rameshwarman. Thereafter we travelled in the beach sand which was a bit tricky travel but worth it. We reached a place where the beach as well as the water was crystal clear. This... More

It is probably the cleanest beach in India! It is a part of Marine National Park between India and Sri Lanka.

Dhanushkodi is located about 18 Kilometres away from Rameshwaram town. The ride to Dhanushkodi sea beach from Rameshwaram town is very enchanting. Thrilling ride through green fields with sea along side. The sea beach is pollution free and not at all crowded.

So the last point where you can drive in would be 5kms before the Dhanushkodi village. We were luck to carry our cycles. There are enough and more reviews here on the abandoned church, the old railway bridge etc on the Dhanushkodi village. However, incase you are cyling down, DO NOT miss the Dhanushkodi point. This is the last point... More

Location: Beach is @ 14 kms from Rameshwaram Access: Proper road is available if you are going with your own vehicle. Also public transport options from Rameshwaram are available This is end point of Indian land. All public transport (buses, shared autos) stop @ 3-4kms before end (police check point is there so they won't allow vehicles beyond this point).... More

Have to travel 25 kms from hotel which included around 5 + Km over sand, mud roads, and ankle deep ocean water to reach this place. It is only 18 kms from Srilanka. The island got damaged in a cyclone in the 1960's, remnants of railway line, church etc scattered over the place, which was just great. A sample rock... More

Anyone who is going to Tamil Nadu must visit Dhanushkodi. The entire family had planned back in Sydney (Australia) that we couldn't go due to time constraints, but somehow we managed to go. This place didn't disappoint! It was so beautiful. We went on a bus ride. The bus went in the water and took us to a place there... More
